週刊ゴング廃刊決定
先日、代表取締役社長の前田大作容疑者がコンピューター関連機器会社「アドテックス」（東京都港区）の民事再生法違反事件で逮捕された日本スポーツ出版社は、２７日までに「週刊ゴング」の廃刊を決定、編集部員全員を解雇すると通告しました。４０年の歴史を持つプロレス専門誌「ゴング」は来週発売号をもってピリオドを打つことになりました。

＜「週刊ゴング」とは？（ＷＩＫＩＰＥＤＩＡ」より（敬称略）＞
ベースボール・マガジン社でプロレス&ボクシングの編集長をしていた竹内宏介を日本スポーツがヘッドハンティングし、竹内を編集長・総責任者として1968年に月刊誌「月刊ゴング」として創刊。当初はプロレスだけでなくボクシングも扱った格闘技専門誌だった。1982年にボクシング部門を月刊ワールドボクシングとして分割、プロレス専門誌化される。1984年に週刊化され現在の誌名に変更。
